About Us
Klean Studios is a community of artists, creators, visionaries, and the likes. Some know us as a recording studio or an underground performance venue. And others know us as the home of the illustrious Biscuits and Gravy podcast. Widely recognized as a place that is passionate about art and creation, we thrive to create experiences that become highlighted moments in the lives of people who we get the pleasure to work with.
In the Spring of 2017 Maxwell Klimczak, the founder of Klean Studios, began recording himself and his friends rapping over type beats which quickly grew into a passion of his. After graduating high school in 2018 he decided to attend Mary Baldwin University to study musical composition. He conducted recording session out of dorm rooms and the music hall on campus through out his three years there. Fast forward to the summer of 2021 and Klean Studios brings itself to Roanoke to begin working with local talent. Some of the first notable clients were Itchy Nerves, Zae Brown, Tim Compton, and Nikolas Honore. The first full length album ever recorded at Klean Studios was “Lucy Bach’s Curious Thrift Closet” by Nikolas in the fall of 2021.
In 2022 Klean Studios applied for its LLC and moved into the lower level of a house that is now the main operating space. Over the course of the next three years they would go on to record over 300 songs and work for more than one hundred artists from all over the east coast. Klean Studios was running 5-10 recording sessions weekly with singles and projects dropping every month or so from 2021 to 2024.
Klean Studios has already made a mark on the music community here in Roanoke but they are just getting started. While continuing to record and host open mics they have added some new additions including a photo and videography space, an online beat catalog, and also a Spotify playlist with over 12 hours of music that they’ve produced. However, there is one more feature of Klean Studios that has the community buzzing. And that is
